Supported Hand Protection

Unsupported Hand Protection

Unsupported gloves are best when there is a need for greater dexterity in applications requiring mild chemical protection or a disposable glove solution. The gauge identifies the mil thickness of a glove. A thin gauge allows a sense of touch and a heavy gauge provides greater protection and durability.

Types Of Leather
Cow - Cow leather is the most commonly used leather within the glove industry due to its plentiful availability. The United States and Australia produce the majority of these hides. The advantages include comfort, durability, excellent abrasion and breathability. Chrome tanning of this leather provides greater wear and heat resistance.
Pig - Pigskin offers the greatest breathability due to the porous texture of this hide. Additionally, pigskin tends to become softer with use and withstands moisture without stiffening. When laundered, this leather will return more to its natural soft texture than other leathers.
Goat - Independent tests have proven this to be a stronger and more durable leather. The natural lanolin produced by goats help to create the softest, most abrasion resistant leather. This leather is highly recommended for applications requiring tactile sensitivity.

Cuts Of Leather
Grain - Grain leather is the smooth external side of the hide. This type of leather provides durability and dexterity
Split - Split leather is the rougher internal side of the hide. The three different types of split leather is side, shoulder or belly split.
Side Split - comes from the rib area of the animal. This part of the leather is more durable and provides the greatest protection because of its greater density of fibers.
Shoulder Split - is more economical than side, but less durable. The additional movement in this shoulder area creates less fibers and a more visable texture difference.
Belly Split - is the most economical; however, it has the least consistency of texture and appearance.

در يک سحرگاه سرد ماه ژانويه، مردي وارد ايستگاه متروي واشينگتن دي سي شد و شروع به نواختن ويلون کرد.اين مرد در عرض ۴۵ دقيقه، شش قطعه از بهترين قطعات باخ را نواخت. از آنجا که شلوغ ترين ساعات صبح بود، هزاران نفر براي رفتن به سر کارهايشان به سمت مترو هجوم آورده بودند.
سه دقيقه گذشته بود که مرد ميانسالي متوجه نوازنده شد. از سرعت قدم‌هايش کاست و چند ثانيه‌اي توقف کرد، بعد با عجله به سمت مقصد خود براه افتاد.
يک دقيقه بعد، ويلون‌ زن اولين انعام خود را دريافت کرد. خانمي بي‌آنکه توقف کند يک اسکناس يک دلاري به درون کاسه‌اش انداخت و با عجله براه خود ادامه داد.
چند دقيقه بعد، مردي در حاليکه گوش به موسيقي سپرده بود، به ديوار پشت‌ سر تکيه داد، ولي ناگهان نگاهي به ساعت خود انداخت وبا عجله از صحنه دور شد،
کسي که بيش از همه به ويلون زن توجه نشان داد، کودک سه ساله‌اي بود که مادرش با عجله و کشان کشان بهمراه مي ‌برد. کودک يک لحظه ايستاد و به تماشاي ويلون‌زن پرداخت، مادر محکم تر کشيد وکودک در حاليکه همچنان نگاهش به ويلون‌زن بود، بهمراه مادر براه افتاد، اين صحنه، توسط چندين کودک ديگرنيز به همان ترتيب تکرار شد، و والدين‌شان بلا استثنا براي بردن‌شان به زور متوسل شدند.
در طول مدت ۴۵ دقيقه‌اي که ويلون‌زن مي نواخت، تنها شش نفر، اندکي توقف کردند. بيست نفر انعام دادند، بي‌آنکه مکثي کرده باشند، و سي و دو دلار عايد ويلون‌زن شد. وقتيکه ويلون‌زن از نواختن دست کشيد و سکوت بر همه جا حاکم شد، نه کسي متوجه شد. نه کسي تشويق کرد، ونه کسي او را شناخت.
هيچکس نمي‌دانست که اين ويلون‌زن همان "جاشوا بل" يکي از بهترين موسيقيدانان جهان است، و نوازنده‌ي يکي از پيچيده‌ترين قطعات نوشته شده براي ويلون به ارزش سه ونيم ميليون دلار، مي‌باشد.
جاشوا بل، دو روز قبل از نواختن در سالن مترو، در يکي از تاتر هاي شهر بوستون، برنامه‌اي اجرا کرده بود که تمام بليط هايش پيش‌فروش شده بود، وقيمت متوسط هر بليط يکصد دلار بود.
اين يک داستان حقيقي است،نواختن جاشوا بل در ايستگاه مترو توسط واشينگتن‌پست ترتيب داده شده بود، وبخشي از تحقيقات اجتماعي براي سنجش توان شناسايي، سليقه و الوويت ‌هاي مردم بود.
نتيجه: آيا ما در شرايط معمولي وساعات نا‌مناسب، قادر به مشاهده ودرک زيبايي هستيم؟ لحظه‌اي براي قدر‌داني از آن توقف مي‌کنيم؟ آيا نبوغ وشگرد ها را در يک شرايط غير منتظره مي‌توانيم شناسايي کنيم؟
يکي از نتايج ممکن اين آزمايش ميتواند اين باشد،اگر ما لحظه‌اي فارغ نيستيم که توقف کنيم و به يکي از بهترين موسيقيدانان جهان که در حال نواختن يکي از بهترين قطعات نوشته شده براي ويلون، است، گوش فرا دهيم ،چه چيز هاي ديگري را داريم از دست ميدهيم؟

حوادث ناشي از دستكاري غيرمجاز تجهيزات اندازه گيري برق ( كنتور )

نصب هرتجهيزالكتريكي داراي الزاماتي مي باشد كه بايد استفاده كنندگان اين شرايط را كاملاً رعايت نمايند.
شرايط استاندارد نصب تجهيزات اندازه گيري ( كنتور ) برق توسط شركت هاي توزيع برق قبل از نصب اين تجهيزات به متقاضيان انشعاب ابلاغ مي گردد :

1- محل نصب كنتور بايد مسطح و كاملا" تراز باشد.
2- ارتفاع محل نصب كنتور بايد از سطح زمين حداقل 155 سانتيمتر و حداكثر 210 سانتيمتر باشد
3- مسير عبور كابل به درون ساختمان و تا محل نصب كنتور نبايد با اجسام فلزي تماس داشته باشد و در صورت نياز به عبور كابل از ديوار لازم است لوله گذاري مناسب و ايمن انجام گردد .
4- فاصله محل نصب كنتور برق تا محل نصب كنتور گاز نبايد كمتر از 150 سانتيمتر باشد .
5- در صورتيكه واحد درخواستي جهت انشعاب برق در يك ساختمان سه واحدي و يا بيشتر باشد متقاضي بايد تابلو كنتورهاي مناسب تهيه و نصب نمايد .

ولي متآسفانه مشاهده مي گردد كه مشتركين محترم بدون مجوزدراين تجهيزات دستكاري نموده و بعضي از موارد با سليقه خود كنتورها را جابجا نموده و حتي در صورت كوتاه بودن كابل ورودي ( كابل دستك ) ، مقداري كابل به آن اضافه مي نمايند كه اين كار غيرقانوني بوده و جرم محسوب مي گردد ، به هر حال نتيجه اين دستكاري هاي غير مجازمي تواند حوادث غيرقابل جبراني درپي داشته باشد كه نمونه اي از آن را در تصاوير مشاهده مي فرماييد :

Electrical arcing occurred when a high voltage/high current cross-country power line contacted the boom of a CAT excavator. Current flowed throughout the entire excavator in passing to the ground. In fact, the current that passed through the CAT excavator "crystallized" the ground around the excavator. A view of the subject excavator at the accident scene is shown in Photograph A.

After metallurgical analysis, it was concluded that replacement of individual arc damage parts would be more costly than merely replacing the entire CAT excavator.

Scout leaders electrocuted

Four adult boy scout leaders died of electrocution Monday as they were setting up camp on the opening day of the group's 2005 Jamboree in Virginia.
The accident happened as more than 40,000 scouts and volunteers from around the world converged at the U.S. Army's Fort A.P. Hill, just south of Washington, D.C.
The four leaders were from a troop in Alaska.
Utility workers shut off power lines following an electrical accident that killed four scout leaders near Bowling Green, Va., Monday, July 25. (AP Photo/The Free Lance-Star, Rebecca Sell)Jamboree officials declined to discuss how the accident happened, but the Washington Post quoted Sheriff A.A. "Tony" Lippa Jr. of Caroline County as saying that a pole may have struck a power line.
Among the dead was scoutmaster Ron Bitzer of Anchorage.
Family spokesman and the troop's scoutmaster, Ken Schoolcraft, told the Associated Press that Bitzer was a retired administrative judge and an assistant scoutmaster of Troop 129 in Anchorage.
"Scouting was what he loved. He spent many, many, many hours working with scouting," Schoolcraft said. "It was a way for him to help others."
The names of the other victims have not yet been released.
One other leader from Alaska and two contract workers were hospitalized in stable condition. No boy scouts were seriously injured.
Alaska Gov. Frank Murkowski offered his condolences to the victims' families and troop members.
"These individuals were killed while serving Alaska's young people – and I admire and thank them for that service," he said in a statement.
Jamboree organizers said the event will go on and they have brought in grief counsellors.

1 killed, another hurt in Holladay electrical accident

HOLLADAY — One man was killed and another severely burned while working on a power pole Tuesday morning.
The men were left dangling 15 to 20 feet in the air, with only their safety harnesses preventing them from falling to the ground, as a third worker attempted to get them down in a daring rescue by climbing the pole and lowering them to the ground.
"It was horrible, it was absolutely horrible," said Pat Carrillo.
Several residents, including Carrillo, broke down in tears as they recounted watching the workers hang from the pole.
"He was upside down. It looked like he was trying to get his harness off of him. I could hear him moaning," she said of the lone survivor.
Stephen G. Vlamakis, 26, of Helper, was killed in the accident. Fatu Matagi, 28, Bountiful, suffered extensive injuries and was listed in critical condition Tuesday night.
Both were employees of Mountain Power Construction and were working near a transformer on a power pole located in the corner of several backyards near 4100 South and 1400 East. The pole they were working on had numerous wires connected to it.
At 11:43 a.m., a garbage truck driver and a resident spotted the workers and called 911. Investigators were still looking for witnesses. Carrillo said she was on her computer when the power suddenly went out. That's when she ran outside and saw the workers dangling from the pole.Neighbor Bunny Higgins had gone to the store only to receive a call a short time later that something that sounded like a gunshot was heard in her neighborhood. When she returned she saw the two men hanging, with Vlamakis dangling a little lower than than Matagi.
"His hat shot off," she said in tears. "There was smoke coming off his head."
A Rocky Mountain Power employee, who had received special training in these types of rescues, quickly climbed the pole, rendered the power lines safe, set up a pulley system and lowered the men down to waiting Unified Fire Authority crews.
"I knew he's not going to make it because he never moved at all," Carrillo said upon seeing Vlamakis.
Officials believe the two workers were suspended in the air 35 to 45 minutes before they were brought down. Matagi was semiconscious and able to talk with paramedics after he was brought to the ground, said fire Capt. Jay Fearnley.
Investigators believe Vlamakis was killed instantly.

ورود حيوانات موذي به داخل پست هاي زميني و تابلوهاي برق

يكي از مشكلات مهم و اساسي در پست هاي زميني برق ورود حيوانات موذي از جمله موش ، گربه و حتي مار به داخل اين پست ها و ايجاد اتصال كوتاه بين شينه هاي برق مي باشد ، لذا بهتر است برقكاران محترم تمام درزها و حتي منافذي كه مي تواند محل ورود حيوانات باشد را مسدود نمايند. اخيراً بعضي از همكاران با استفاده از توري هاي مناسب در قسمت پايين سلول ( هم سطح ) مانع از ورود اين حيوانات به داخل سلول و تماس آنان با شينه هاي برق مي گردند.

نوروز سرآغاز زندگی نو

سخن تازه از نوروز گفتن دشوار است . نوروز يک جشن ملي است . جشن ملي را همه مي شناسند که چيست ، نوروز هر ساله بر پا مي شود و هر ساله از آن سخن مي رود . بسيار گفته اند و بسيار شنيده ايد ؛ پس به تکرار نيازي نيست؟ چرا هست . مگر نوروز را خود مکرر نمي کنيد؟ پس سخن از نوروز را مکرر بشنويد . در علم و ادب تکرار ملال آور است و بيهوده ؛ "عقل" تکرار را نمي پسندد ؛ اما "احساس" تکرار را دوست دارد، طبيعت تکرار را دوست دارد ، جامعه به تکرار نيازمند است . طبيعت را از تکرار ساخته اند ؛ جامعه با تکرار نيرومند مي شود ( سنت از اين مقوله است ). احساس با تکرار جان مي گيرد. و نوروز داستان زيبايي است که در آن طبيعت ، احساس و جامعه هر سه دست اندر کارند .نوروز که قرنهاي دراز است بر همه جشن هاي جهان فخر مي فروشد، از آن رو "هست" که يک قرارداد مصنوعي اجتماعي و يا يک جشن تحميلي سياسي نيست ؛ جشن جهان است و روز شادماني زمين ، آسمان و آفتاب و جوش شکفتن ها و شور زادن ها و سرشار از هيجان هر "آغاز" ؛ جهان گرم از بهار ، روشن از آفتاب ، لرزان از هيجانِ آفرينش و آفريدن ، زيبا از هنرمندي باد و باران ، آراسته با شکوفه ، جوانه ، سبزه و معطر از بوي باران ، بوي پونه ، بوي خاک ، شاخه هاي شسته ، باران خورده ، پاک چه افسانه زيبايي ؛ زيباتر از واقعيت ! راستي مگر هر کسي احساس نمي کند که نخستين روز بهار گويي نخستين روز آفرينش است . اگر روزي خدا جهان را آغاز کرده است ، مسلما آن روز ، اين نوروز بوده است ، مسلما بهار نخستين فصل و فروردين نخستين ماه و نوروز نخستين روز آفرينش است . هرگز خدا جهان را و طبيعت را با پاييز يا زمستان يا تابستان آغاز نکرده است . مسلما اولين روز بهار ، سبزه ها روئيدن آغاز کرده اند و رودها رفتن و شکوفه ها سر زدن و جوانه ها شکفتن ، يعني نوروز .بي شک روح در اين فصل زاده است و عشق در اين روز سر زده است و نخستين بار آفتاب در نخستين نوروز طلوع کرده است و زمان با وي آغاز شده است .
