22nd April 2010 On Wednesday Afternoon, Police Major Wirawoot from Pattaya Police Station was called to a house in Soi 21 off Pattaya Third Road to deal with a fatality. Inside the second floor room of the house owned by Khun Deunpen aged 47 was the body of Khun Sirirat aged 42, who is the house maid who has been employed by her for 7 years. Burn marks were evident on her wrist and it was determined that she had been cleaning inside the bathroom of a room occupied by the house owners son who was out at the time. 2 weeks ago, a new electric shower unit was installed in the bathroom and burn marks around the unit suggested the cleaner came into contact with the unit and was electrocuted.
Khun Deunpen was on the first floor at the time of the incident and heard a loud scream and found Khun Sirirat on the ground in an unconscious state. Attempts were made to revive her without success. Police confirmed that the cause of death was electrocution.
