A worker died this morning when he was "thrown" from a bucket while working on an overhead electrical line.
The fatal accident happened at about 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of Sheridan Boulevard and W. 120th Ave., according to a media release from North Metro Fire Rescue.
The victim was identified tonight by the Adams County Coroner's Office as 53-year-old Ross K. Thompson of Lakewood.
The fire department said two men, who work for Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc., were "putting up a line, which was not live," when an overhead bucket gave way.
"One man was thrown from the bucket and struck the truck," the fire rescue said.
The victim died at the scene.
The surviving worker was taken to St. Anthony Central Hospital with "traumatic injuries," the release said. Further details on the surviving worker's injuries were not available.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the work-related accident.
